Supplier Background Check Questions

Will the supplier know we're checking them?
No. All background checks are conducted discreetly using public Chinese government databases and court records. The supplier is never contacted and never knows the check was performed.
Can a background check prevent me from getting scammed?
It significantly reduces risk. Our checks have identified shell companies, companies on China's dishonesty blacklist, legal representatives with multiple failed ventures, and companies whose business scope doesn't cover the products they claim to manufacture. However, no check can guarantee zero risk — which is why we also offer contract drafting services.
What's the difference between the $99 and $399 tiers?
The $99 tier covers basic verification — is the company real, registered, and who runs it. The $399 tier adds court records, enforcement/dishonesty blacklist status, asset tracing, director/shareholder background, trademark & IP status, corporate structure analysis, and a comprehensive legal opinion with a risk matrix. It's the tier that catches fraud patterns the $99 can't see.
Do I need to provide any information?
Just the supplier's company name (in Chinese if possible), their website or Alibaba link, and any bank account details they've given you. We handle the rest. If you have a proforma invoice or contract, send that too.
Can I upgrade after receiving my report?
Yes. Every tier includes full upgrade credits. If you purchase the $99 Reality Check and want the $399 assessment within 30 days, you pay only the $300 difference. Cross-product credits (toward contract or dispute services) are also valid for 30 days.
